About the company

Engineering first, sales pitch never.

Sun Hustle Co Pty Ltd is a solar and battery contractor working out of Victoria's east, where the roofs are varied, the weather is real, and the network is not always up.

Who we are

A small contractor that puts the drawing before the invoice

Most of the solar disappointment we get called out to fix started with a quote that never described the job. A panel count and a price is not a design. It says nothing about which roof planes were used, how the strings were split, whether the switchboard needed work, or what happens on a still, overcast winter week.

We work the other way around. Every job begins with a site assessment, and every quote we issue names the hardware, the layout, the electrical scope and the assumptions behind the numbers. If a system will not perform on your roof, we would rather tell you that at the quoting stage than after the scaffold comes down.

The work spans grid-connected rooftop solar, battery storage and backup, standalone power for properties past the end of the network, and ongoing servicing — including on systems installed by somebody else.

How we think about a system

Three positions we do not move off

They are unglamorous, and they are the reason a system is still producing properly in year eight.

  • Size it to the load, not to the roof space

The right system is the one that matches how and when you actually use power. An oversized array exporting into a low feed-in tariff is not a better outcome, it is a bigger invoice.

  • The mounting outlives the marketing

Rail, feet, flashings and fixings are what stand between your roof and twenty years of wind, heat and salt. We specify them for the site, not for the lowest line item.

  • A system nobody monitors is a system nobody notices failing

A dead string or a faulted MPPT can go unseen for a whole season. Monitoring is configured and explained at handover, so a drop in output turns into a phone call rather than a surprise bill.
